Frankfurt, 28 JUNE 2011: In a Quality Convention held during 26-27 June 2011 in Frankfurt, Southtech Limited received from Business Initiative Directions (BID) the International Arch of Europe Award for Quality and Technology in the Gold Category. The award was in recognition of Southtech’s commitment to Quality, Leadership, Technology and Innovation. Fifty six awardees from forty eight countries included China Steel Corporation, NTPC Ltd from India, Iranian Offshore Engineering & Construction Co., QMS International PLC from UK and Jurong Shipyard Pte. Ltd. from Singapore. The award represented success for Bangladesh in the business world.
The members of the International Committee for Selection of Candidates are responsible for the search and selection of companies nominated for the BID International Arch of Europe Award. The Committee is made up of company leaders from more than 90 countries who meet annually in London, Paris, New York, Frankfurt, and Geneva.
Upon receiving the award from BID President Jose E. Prieto, Southtech’s Managing Director & CEO, Syed Mamnun Quader said, “I receive this award on behalf of all those who work in Southtech, our loyal customers, our supportive shareholders and our business-friendly government, without whom we could not have come this far.
