Southtech Limited Re-appraised at CMMI Level 3

Dhaka, 4 December 2014: Southtech Limited announced that it has been re-appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)®. The appraisal was performed by KPMG.

CMMI® is a capability improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. An appraisal at Maturity Level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for Maturity Level 3, is established and improved over time.

“Southtech Limited was first appraised at Level 3 in October 2008 by QAI, India and subsequently by KPMG in October 2011. This is our third appraisal and it proves our commitment to establishing and practicing high process standards required in the software industry. 2015 will be a very significant year for Southtech as we have been working very hard on our next generation products for the last eighteen months. Having this reappraisal was very timely as it gives us and our clients the assurance of high development standards,” said Southtech’s Managing Director & CEO, Mr. Syed Mamnun Quader.

“During the last several months we have introduced several improvements in our operational processes and procedures and we are steadfast in continuing our process of improvements and innovations. As an organization, we are constantly pursuing our goal of helping our clients to becoming more competitive in their respective marketplace,” said Mr. Shihab Sayeed, Vice President of Quality Assurance and Head of EPG.

The CMMI® Institute, a subsidiary of Carnegie Mellon University, is dedicated to elevating organizational performance through best-in-class solutions to real-world challenges. The Institute is the home of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® for Development, Services, and Acquisition; the People Capability Maturity Model; and the Data Management Maturity Model (DMM)SM, which are capability improvement models that create high-performance, high maturity cultures. The models are used by organizations that seek to deliver business results that serve as differentiators in the global market.
